eL Seed is an internationally recognised artist who is based in Dubai. Born in 1981, he is known for using Arabic calligraphy and a distinctive style to spread messages of peace, unity and highlight the commonalities of human existence as well as subvert stereotypes. He has created a variety of works in France, Canada, USA, South Africa, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Lebanon and Tunisia. His work has also been exhibited in London, Paris, Milan, Cairo and Dubai. In 2017, eL Seed won the UNESCO Sharjah Prize for Arab Culture. A year earlier, he was also named a Global Thinker by Foreign Policy for his project Perception in Cairo.
In his gallery in the sky, which is available for passengers onboard Emirates Airlines to view through their inflight entertainment, Ice, and Etihad Airways passengers to view through their inflight entertainment, E-Box, eL Seed speaks about and showcases his iconic creations Declaration, Perception and The Bridge, which stand in the UAE, Egypt and South Korea, respectively.
